Why Are We Talking About Renting Now?
For many years, owners at The Pointe have operated under a commonly
understood set of rental rules.
A review of The Pointe's governing documents has raised important questions
about which rental restrictions are contained in the recorded Declaration,
which were adopted later through rules or policies, and how those
restrictions may apply today.
At the same time, the Association is considering changes to The Pointe's
governing documents that may ultimately be presented to owners for a vote.
Why does this matter?
The outcome could affect:
PORA was created so owners have a place to understand these issues before being asked to make important decisions.
Where Do We Go From Here?
Rental flexibility also comes with responsibility.
More rental activity can affect parking, security, amenities, neighbors and
the overall atmosphere of our community.
Rather than ignoring those concerns, PORA believes owners should address
them directly.
Our goal is to help develop a responsible, legal, rental standards
for The Pointe — one that provides flexibility for owners while
setting clear expectations for renters and protecting the community we all
enjoy.
As proposed Declaration changes and voting information become available,
PORA will provide straightforward information here so owners can understand
what is being proposed and what it may mean for them.
