PORA is an independent, owner-led group created to help Pointe owners
understand the changing rental environment, proposed governing-document
changes and their potential impact on owners and the community.
Is PORA part of the Board or Association?
No. PORA is independent of The Pointe Association and Board of Directors.
Is PORA only for owners who want to rent?
No. The decisions being considered may affect all owners, regardless
of whether they ever intend to rent their unit.
Is PORA advocating for unlimited or unregulated rentals?
No. PORA supports responsible rentals with reasonable standards that
protect owners, residents, guests and the community.
Why should I care if I never plan to rent?
Rental restrictions affect more than rental income. They can affect how
owners use their property, future flexibility and potentially how attractive
a unit is to a future buyer.
Every owner should understand what is being proposed before making a
decision.
Is there going to be a vote?
Changes to the governing documents may require owner approval. PORA will
share information about any proposed amendments and voting process as that
information becomes available.
What does renting at The Pointe involve?
Owners must comply with applicable Association requirements, governing
documents and governmental requirements.
PORA is developing straightforward information to help owners understand
that process.
Will there be standards for renters?
PORA believes there should be responsible rental practices that will help
address concerns involving parking, guests, noise, amenities, security and
respect for neighbors.
Will PORA manage rentals?
No. PORA is an owner education and resource organization, not a rental
management company.
Will PORA help owners understand how to rent?
Yes. As the current governing-document issues become clearer, PORA
will develop a simple Renting 101 resource covering the basic process,
costs, management options and responsibilities of renting a unit at The
Pointe.
